Economic Development Opportunities

There are economic development opportunities in our region that need our focus.

There are a number of world-class, export-focused businesses that operate in our region. They tend not to blow their own horns, but I think we can do more to help them grow their export sales and, as a result, increase jobs and wealth-creation in our region. There is a particular opportunity coming up with the development of the Canada-EU Trade Agreement that we can capitalize on. We need to deliberately and systematically leverage our citizens’ francophone and German-language strengths to take advantage of this opportunity.
